Intro to B&W Darkroom

For newcomers to film photography or those returning to brush up their skills, you can work 1-on-1 or in small groups with instructor Benjamin Aleshire to learn the basics of black and white film processing in 35mm or 120, contact sheets, film scanning, and making prints up to 8x10”.

$30: a 1-hour session, which includes processing of up to 2 rolls of b&w film, and negative sleeves.

$60: A 2-hour session, which includes processing of up to 2 rolls of b&w film, with accompanying contact sheets and negative sleeves.

$90: A 3-hour session, for processing b&w film, making contact sheets, and/or printing up to 8x10”.

Intermediate B&W Darkroom

For those at the intermediate level who already feel comfortable with the basics of a b&w darkroom but want 1-on-1 or small-group instruction on printing technique, printing with fiber paper, moving up in size to 11x14, etc, this class is for you. At this level you will likely be bringing your own paper to work with, but you may also purchase any available in-house paper by the sheet (mostly Ilford RC Satin in 8x11” and 11x14”, or 16x20” by request).

$30 per hour.
